Third Party Notification
Laurens Commission of Public Works recognizes that people sometimes forget to pay their monthly utility bills due to a variety of reasons including travel, illness, or hospitalization. To help prevent service interruptions for non-payment, we have implemented our Third-Party Notification Program to serve as a safety net.
Under this program, Laurens CPW will notify a designated third party by telephone if a residential customer’s account becomes past due. The third party may be a relative, friend, neighbor, or anyone the customer chooses.
While the third party is not responsible for paying the bill, he or she may be able to help arrange for payment – helping avoid disconnection of service.
The Third-Party Notification program is a free service and may be set up by the customer or by a concerned third party with the customer’s permission. This service provides assurance that someone will be notified if the customer’s utility service is subject to disconnection for nonpayment.
