 John Young

John began his career at the Laurens Commission of Public Works in 2000 as a marketing manager. He was named General Manager in February 2014. In his current role, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the CPW. John has over 30 years of experience in the utility industry, including electric and gas operations, customer service, marketing and economic development. Prior to joining the CPW, John was a manager with South Carolina Electric & Gas Company in Charleston, SC.

John is an active member of Laurens First United Methodist Church. He is also currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency, the Laurens County Health Care System, Main Street Laurens, the City of Laurens Planning Commission, the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, Laurens County Development Corporation, and the Laurens Rotary Club.

John earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Clemson University.

 Keith Wood

Keith began his career at the Laurens Commission of Public Works in 2008 and was promoted to Operations Director in February 2014. In his current role, he is responsible for day-to-day operations in the natural Gas Division, the Electric Division, Water & Wastewater Division and the maintenance Department. Prior to joining the CPW, Keith was a software developer with PSA Consulting. He is lifelong resident of Laurens County. He attends Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and is an assistant Boy Scout Scoutmaster for Troop 16 in Gray Court. Keith is on the board of directors of the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency and the Joe Adair Center. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Erskine College.

 Blake Davis

Blake began his career at the Laurens Commission of Public Works in 2013 and was promoted to Administrative Director in February 2014. In his current role, he is responsible for the Administrative Division including finance, HR, customer service, billing and IT. Prior to joining the CPW, Blake was a Branch Manager and Loan Officer with the Palmetto Bank.

Blake was born and raised in the Hickory Tavern community in Laurens County. Blake is an active member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. He also currently serves on the the board of directors for the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, Lakelands Region YMCA, and Piedmont Technical College. 


Blake earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Newberry College. He is also a graduate of the South Carolina Banker’s School and Leadership Laurens County.

 Tijuana Wormley

Tijuana began her career at the Laurens Commission of Public Works in 2003 as a cashier. She was promoted to Customer Service Manager in March 2014. She is currently responsible for cashiering, service technicians, and customer service. Prior to the CPW, Tijuana worked in the Admissions Office for the University of South Florida. She has lived in Laurens County for most of her life.

 Angie Whiteford

Angie began her career with the CPW in 1994 as a student assistant while she was working on her engineering degree at Piedmont Technical College. She went back to school and finished her BS degree in business in 2014. Angie is a lifelong resident of Laurens County. Since 2014, she has been the manager of IT and Customer Billing.

Her primary responsibilities include ensuring all computer hardware and software systems throughout the CPW are functioning properly and making sure all meters are read accurately and utility bills are delivered accurately and on time.

Angie is a member of Bellview Baptist Church. She is also past Chair and current board member of the Laurens County United Way Board.

 Robby Howard

Robby began his career at the Laurens Commission of Public Works in August of 1997. In 2017 he was promoted to Superintendent of the Electric Operations Division. Robby enjoys fishing and college football.

 
He has lived in Laurens his entire life. Robby is a graduate of the SCE&G municipal lineman school and numerous technical and leadership training programs.

 Will Patterson

Will Patterson began his career at the Laurens Commission of Public Works in May of 2003. He became Superintendent of the Water & Wastewater Division in June 2017. He oversees the CPW’s water treatment facility, wastewater treatment facility and the distribution/collection construction department.

Will was born in Laurens and lived here all of his life. He holds an associate’s degree from Piedmont Technical College and maintains an “A” Water Treatment operator license from South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.

 Mike Smith

Mike began his career at the Laurens Commission of Public Works in 1994. He assumed the position as Superintendent of the Natural Gas Division in 2017. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the division. Mike enjoys watching his daughter playing softball and hunting and fishing with his son.
