Our industrial rates are very competitive, our reliability is tops in the industry and we consistently rate very high on industrial customer satisfaction surveys.

 Hunter Industrial Park

Located just thirty minutes from Greenville and twenty five minutes from Spartanburg, Hunter Industrial Park in Laurens, SC is the gateway to South Carolina's Upstate. Currently, the park contains several hundred acres for expansions and new projects. Park residents include a diverse mixture of automotive, warehouse/distribution and nonferrous metal forging industries. Owned by the Laurens Commission of Public Works, Hunter Industrial Park is the culmination of efforts by the community, the Chamber of Commerce and local government.  Main Street Laurens - Downtown Development

Main Street Laurens was formed to focus on Laurens’ future, and its team works to maintain a vibrant downtown. Main Street Laurens looks for opportunities to enhance our citizen’s quality of life, including economic enhancement initiatives, promotions, festival events, streets scaping, and master planning. Its members help create a viable and sustainable downtown environment.

 Electricity

The Laurens CPW buys power through the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency which owns 25% of Reactor II at the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant in York, SC. Our system has two primary substations operating 9 circuits. Our distribution system operates at 7,200 volts and contains approximately 100 miles of lines. Our service area is approximately 11 square miles. In addition to a robust system, our community enjoys industry-leading electric system reliability. The average customer sees less than one minute of power loss each year, while the national average is 140 minutes.

 Natural Gas

The Laurens CPW provides natural gas service to approximately 7,500 residential, commercial and industrial customers in the city of Laurens and surrounding areas stretching from southern Greenville County to Ware Shoals to Lake Greenwood. We have 84 regulator stations, and over 398 miles of natural gas pipeline. The CPW receives natural gas via the Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Corporation, with our city gate in Fountain Inn, SC.

 Water/Wastewater

We operate an 8 million gallons daily (MGD) water treatment facility, averaging about 2 MGD output. Our water sources are Lake Rabon and the Reedy River. We have approximately 146 miles of waterlines and 6 elevated storage tanks throughout the distribution system to maintain pressure and meet peak water demands. Our distribution system covers the city of Laurens and surrounding areas. 

Our Little River Wastewater treatment facility has a capacity of 4.5 MGD and currently treats about 1.5 MGD. The sewer service area encompasses most of the city and some surrounding areas. We maintain approximately 90 miles of gravity sewer lines and 5 sewer pump stations.
