The Laurens Commission of Public Works provides Hunter Industrial Park with electricity, natural gas, water and sewer service.

   With South Carolina facing the prospect of deregulation of the electric utility industry, LCPW has an agressive plan for open market competition and customers of the LCPW are assured of LCPW maintaining the quality level of service they have always enjoyed ­ at economical pricing.

   Natural gas is supplied to Hunter Industrial Park by a 4-inch high pressure line and water is provided by a 12-inch line with effluent carried via a 10-inch line.

   Business customers of the LCPW have consistently rated their utility service at extremely high levels. One of the reasons customers remain so pleased with their service is that the LCPW consistently maintains their system on a level normally found in higher populated areas.

   Just in the past few years a new electric substation has been built, sewers have been rehabilitated, water line replacement projects have been ongoing and the inflow/infiltration of sewer lines has been successfully abated.
